Cynthia Wu

Cynthia is a second-year PhD student in the Cleland Lab. Cynthia is curious about olfactory memory, specifically, how past experiences shape the way odors are perceived and remembered. Her current work examines how rodents respond differently to the same olfactory signal depending on their prior experience with that odor, through brain-clearing and lightsheet imaging, with the goal of understanding how experience-dependent plasticity influences sensory processing and memory.
Outside of lab, Cynthia is an auxiliary member in the Ithaca Ballet Company. She also loves to play soccer and be around the lakes.
